Adult Sailing Lessons

Whether you are stepping onto a boat for the very first time or looking to sharpen your skills, our adult sailing lessons offer the perfect opportunity to learn in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment. Members and non-members are welcome! Space is limited.​

What You’ll Learn:

 

Designed to meet you exactly where you are and build directly on your existing experience, this course provides the fundamental training required to confidently skipper and crew a day-sailing vessel. Students master hands-on maneuvers like tacking, jibing, and proper sail trim, while learning the essential aerodynamic theory behind how sails interact with the wind. The curriculum also focuses heavily on practical harbor skills—including safe docking, knot tying, and interpreting navigation buoys.

  • The Boat: Learn to sail in a beautiful J-22!

  • The Setting: Cruise and learn in beautiful, historic Hyannis Port Harbor.

  • When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM, and Saturdays (time TBD)

  • Where: Hyannis Port Yacht Club Pier, 175 Irving Ave., Hyannis Port, MA

  • Pricing

    • Tuesdays & Thursdays

      • HPYC Member Cost: $300 per session (4 two-hour lessons)

      • Non-Member Cost: $400 per session (4 two-hour lessons)

    • Saturdays

      • HPYC Member Cost: $150 per 2-hour sail (for up to 4 people)

      • Non-Member Cost: $175 per 2-hour sail (for up to 4 people)
