July 16 2022 Sunfish Results

Last Saturday we completed our July series. Six competitors sailed three races on a modified Olympic course (triangle-windward-leeward-windward finish), in a subtly shifting 5-10 knot SSW breeze. Once again we had tight racing and shifting positions. Starts were typically exotic and aggressive, and downwind legs were as interesting tactically as the beats!

In the end, yours truly claimed the win for July, with Karen Anderson Smith and Tracey Taylor tying for second. We had four different winners across the six races in the series.

Now we shift our attention to the WLYC Sunfish Regatta this weekend, and to the Hyannis Regatta next weekend, before getting our August series underway on the 6th.

Thanks once again to Tiernan O'Kane for his usual stellar work running the races.
