Sunfish Racing Update, August 14

"We happy few." With our wonderful RC off studying in Europe, and with two fleet regulars off indulging other passions (How dare they?), we improvised a bit. Two forty-foot cruising sloops anchored in the harbor conveniently formed a starting line, to the bemusement of their crews. The "blue powerboat by the breakwater" ("No! Not that one!") made a fine windward mark. "No wake" and "Wreck" marks worked nicely for the gybe and leeward marks. Who needs a whistle? Fine, elemental racing in the ten-knot breeze. We even managed some of the usual mayhem at the mark roundings. Results here.
